Most of you have seen the images of the oil slicked birds and tarball laden beaches. These images are coming from Grand Isle, LA located on a barrier island of the same name in the Gulf of Mexico. The local shrimp fisherman have endured tropical storms and hurricanes for generations, but this oil spill is a tragedy that may end over a hundred years of Louisiana tradition.
This piece is for the fisherman their families and the livelihood that the oil companies have stolen from them.
